Dandelion

Terms of Service

Effective October 15, 2026 ยท Version 2026-10-15

These terms govern your school's use of Dandelion, a childcare and preschool operations platform. By creating an account you accept them on behalf of your organization.

Who can use Dandelion

Dandelion is for licensed or registered early childhood programs and the staff and families they invite. The person who creates an account confirms they are authorized to bind their organization to these terms.

Your data is yours

Your school owns the information it puts into Dandelion, including student, family, and staff records. We act on your school's behalf to store and process that information so you can run your program. We do not sell your data, and we do not show advertising.

What Dandelion owns

Dandelion Labs Inc owns Dandelion: the software, its design, its templates and curriculum materials, and every improvement to them, including features built at a school's request. While your subscription is active, we grant your school a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Dandelion for your own program. This right ends when the subscription ends. Your school may not copy, resell, or reverse engineer the service.

What your school's staff write and upload in Dandelion stays your school's, including observations, learning stories, photos, documents, and the drafts staff edit and save. You give us permission to store, copy, and process that content only as needed to provide the service to your school. If you send us suggestions, we may use them to improve Dandelion without owing anything for them.

Original work

To the best of our knowledge, Dandelion and the materials we provide are our original work or used under a license, and do not infringe anyone else's intellectual property. If someone claims they do, we may change the affected part, obtain the right for you to keep using it, or end your subscription and refund any fees you prepaid for the remaining term.

Students' information

Your school decides what information about students is collected and who may see it. Dandelion processes that information only to provide the service to your school and under your school's direction. Requests from parents to access, correct, or delete a student's records are handled by your school as the program of record; we will support you in fulfilling them.

Acceptable use

Use Dandelion lawfully and only for your program's operations. Do not attempt to access other organizations' data, disrupt the service, or upload content you do not have the right to store. You are responsible for keeping account credentials secure and for the actions of the staff and families you invite.

Subscription and fees

Paid plans are billed on the cycle shown at checkout. Fees are described in the app at the time of purchase.

Ending the service

You may stop using Dandelion at any time, and you can close your account yourself from Settings. Closing stops access and billing right away. We keep your records for 12 months after that so you can export them or change your mind, and then we permanently delete them. You can export everything, at any time, as a spreadsheet from Settings or from the closed-account screen. Many of the records Dandelion holds, including attendance, immunizations, incident reports, and staff files, are records your licensor expects you to retain after a program closes, so please take your own copy before the 12 months are up. We may suspend an account that is used unlawfully or that puts other customers' data at risk.

No warranty; limits

Dandelion is provided as is. We work to keep it secure and available but cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error free. Dandelion is a tool to help you operate your program; it does not replace your own licensing, safety, and recordkeeping obligations.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Dandelion Labs Inc is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, and our total liability for any claim relating to Dandelion is limited to the fees your school paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Indemnification

Your school will defend and indemnify Dandelion Labs Inc against claims by third parties arising from the content your school puts into Dandelion, from your use of Dandelion in breach of these terms or the law, or from the operation of your program, including the care and supervision of students and your licensing obligations. We will tell you promptly about any such claim and cooperate with your defense.

Changes

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by a new version date, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
